La Gran Nicoya — Local services in Nacascolo

After spending the last several winters in Costa Rica, specifically all over the Guanacaste Province and the Nicoya Peninsula, my wife and I feel La Gran Nicoya is one of the top of the line local restaurants with an exceptional staff, excellent authentic food at good prices, and souvenirs made by local artisans. Did the coffee tour with my daughter during our trip to Costa Rica in June. We really enjoyed Leo our tour guide and the staff overall was awesome!We learned about coffee as well as important crops such as bananas, cacao, mandarin limes, sugarcane and rum. They brought out food and drinks throughout the tour and we made empanadas which were so good! There was also an option to add lunch but we were so full! These people try and scam tourists. I brought up a book to the counter that costed 12,000 colones which is about 20 dollars, instead they tried to sell it to me for 50 dollars more than doubling the price. They told me something about higher book prices and fact it was used by tour guides. The rest of the store is full of overpriced and generic junk that markets itself as “authentic”.
