Horseback riding 2hrs with a stop at the falls for a swim break was the original description. The experience ended up being an over 1hr and half one way ride and then we stopped at the waterfall on the return. We were not able to stay at the waterfall due to heavy rains, causing the currents to be too strong. Honestly, on seeing the waterfall location, I did not see any safe areas where one would be able to swim.even on a calm day or even sit out. Our group of 5 had to literally go back up the steep stares to even allow space for the next family to go down and at least take a picture. Then we all got back on the horse and returned for lunch. Imagine being in a squatting position for that long with no break. My legs felt like jello when we got off and ended up with a knee injury for the rest of my trip. In hindsight, I would have just walked back and stretched my legs out. I wish they had communicated that we wouldn't be able to stay at the waterfall because I would not have needed to bring a bag that further weighed me down. The guide was friendly overall and checked on me often as my horse was getting out of line a few times. The ride was a slow ride on a dirt/ rock path. Horse were calm for the most part, though mine had to be guided back a few times. There was lush greenery around and a couple small streams, but there was not much else on the ride otherwise. It was extremely hot with just some reprieve in the more wooded areas. If you're looking for just a horse ride through some nice scenery, this will be okay. Nothing really memorable. If you have been to other Caribbean,Central or South American countries and done a similar experience I think it would feel the same. Fitness level necessary - the most challenging part I found was getting off and on the horse. While there is a step-up stool, the guide said they weren't going to use it due to there not being one at the waterfall stop, so we should practice without it. If you are questioning at all whether you can get up there, I would suggest you insist on using the steps as I could have easily avoided my injury had I used it. I have been on horses twice, and just for safety this should be provided at both stops. Also if they are not making an extended stop at the waterfall dont bother walking the steep wet stairs up and down. There are many beautiful waterfalls around Costa Rica but this was just not worth it after riding a horse for that long. A stretch break definitely should be built into this experience if the waterfall is not accessible.

Our experience with Brisas del Nara in Manuel Antonio was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we booked, Alonso made everything seamless and welcoming — super friendly and helpful with every detail. The tour itself was the perfect mix of adventure and nature, and our guide Jordy truly made it special. He was patient, kind, and knowledgeable, creating such a fun and safe atmosphere.

One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was seeing our 7-year-old daughter ride her very first horse. The trail through the lush rainforest was breathtaking, and the stop at the waterfall was magical. To top it all off, both breakfast and lunch were included and delicious, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Brisas del Nara gave us memories we’ll never forget — highly recommended...

Exceptional experience from start to finish! Very toddler friendly/flexible. Great breakfast and lunch included. The horses were well maintained with ropes set up in a way to not hurt them. They were very kind well trained horses. Double saddle for my toddler and I. Beautiful scenery and waterfall. The way to actually get into the waterfall is challenging for toddlers; someone has to help. Changing rooms by the waterfall. Jordi was super attentive to make the experience wonderful for all of us. He even made the horses go faster for the amusement of our 2 year old. We loved the experience so much we repeated it 3 days later with Jordi and the same horses Tenorio and Bolita. Amazing experience. Our toddler...

This was an experience my family and I will never forget. Georgie was our guide and he made an impact in our hearts. He was so informative about the rainforest and taught us SO much. He is so passionate about his country and I found it to be so powerful and beautiful. We did this at the beginning of our trip and I’m glad because it set the tone for how the rest of our trip would be which is the people of Costa Rica are all so wonderful. I highly recommend this tour. The food was also delicious and the scenery and waterfall was beautiful. I’ll think about Georgie for the rest of my life and hope that he and his family stay well.
