Would DEFINITELY recommend this company. Planning the trip, I anticipated that this would be our highlight, so I looked at many companies in various locations. We arrived at the hotel early and were pleasantly surprised at the secluded location, terrific restaurant and fantastic beach at Esterillos Este. We met Gustavo the gentle owner who raised all of the horses himself and the kind man who served as our guide. We met our terrific horses. My first impression was to see them happily eating mangoes off the ground as they waited for us. The horses were obviously well cared for and not overworked, which is something I really appreciated. Incidentally, I appreciated that they took Easter week off, even though this is a big tourist season. I am an inexperienced rider. My horse (Mango) LOVED the water and kept wanting to drip his hoofs in the water has we headed out. He cantered briefly for me, but I couldn’t do it for long. My daughter is much more experienced than I and had the exhilarating experience of cantering with her horse (Mariche) through a long stretch of water. Our guide offered to make pics and videos, and they turned out great! Worth the drive if you’re staying near Manuel Antonio. I felt safe the whole time. This was the opportunity of a lifetime and I’d recommend it in...
Read moreWe just went riding with Adrian and Gustavo today. This was such an incredible experience--a perfect day. The horses were beautiful and well-behaved, the beach was gorgeous, and Adrian was a fantastic guide. I was with my 12-year-old horse-loving daughter. Adrian really listened to her and what she wanted to do, and gave her the opportunity to walk, trot, canter, and gallop along the beach. This was really her dream come true. I felt the whole time that she was safe in such good hands, and I felt comfortable enough to trot, which I'm usually not secure about. He also took amazing photos for her -- she hasn't stopped looking at them all afternoon, she is so happy. Adrian also showed us beautiful birds and plants, we loved learning about these. He and his brother, Gustavo, were also such interesting and kind people. What an amazing day, I can't recommend this highly enough.
A couple of tips -- you can leave your stuff at the restaurant where the tour leaves from and returns to; wear Keen's or similar -- your feet will get wet; you can arrange to stay on at the beautiful beach after the tour. I'm so glad we did this, the beach was empty, the water was warm. There is a riptide, so you can't go out too far, but still so...
Read moreWonderful Experience! With the perfect mix of adventure and tranquility, the beach ride was exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for. Diego was very friendly and easy to talk to and instantly made us feel at ease and ready to ride upon arriving. He talked when we wanted to talk and let us ride when we wanted to ride. My boyfriend had only been on a horse a few times before and so was looking for a bit of direction, but he's also an avid surfer, and Diego immediately knew how to help him by drawing comparisons from surfing and horse riding and explained how their methodology is essentially the same. Because of that, my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed spending the ride applying those skills to his riding and had a great time. I'm a bit more experienced, and so Diego let me have a bit more of free reign and got amazing videos and shots of me galloping on the beach with the sun setting behind me. He also got great shots of my boyfriend and I as a couple riding side by side into the sunset. After the tour was over, he even walked us over to a nice restaurant with an outdoor patio and treated us each to a cold Costa Rican beer as we watched the sun go down and talked. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience! Thanks...
