Mercado de Artesanía, Sarchi — Local services in Sarchí Norte

This is a larger than average souvenir store, and they also sell furniture. There are rows upon rows of trinkets to help remember your visit, and the mark-up seems to be the typical tourist pricing. There was nothing here that can't be found elsewhere, but, there was greater quantities than most other souvenir shops.

Their furniture collection isn't bad, and the all wood construction uses real wood, not the cheep pine stained to look fancy.

All in all, not a bad place to stop; just watch out how much you end...

This is the main local cathedral style Catholic church for the town of Sarchi. Sarchi is famous for its its hand painted art such as ox cart, feathers, old fashioned coffee maker, etc. Also wood furniture which is hand crafted. The church is covered in both art forms (both painted and carved). The park in front has been recently renovated and houses the largest had painted ox cart. We have visited many times in the past several years. Last July I bought a wonderful hand carved rocker. Renald speaks English and the staff is friendly and accommodating. This trip I bought an inside table with 6 chairs, an outside table with 8 chairs and a loving room set with a custom made ottoman. They are going to deliver the furniture upon completion.
