Carara Adventure Park — Local services in Tárcoles

I would go somewhere else if given the choice. I ended up here through a trip advisor booking. Is there ziplining yes.. 10 lines. Was it my best ziplining is Costa Rica.. no. I would say in my case, it was kind of a ruined my experience is the fact they separated me from my 5 year old. When gearing up I asked about practices.. does he go alone, can he go with me and the guide instructed me he would zipline with the guide. Kid said he was ok with that so we continued. While on line 1 they pushed me and my husband to go first and he would follow behind with the kid.(that happened). On line 2, both me and my husband were advised to go first but when we got over the guide and my son were on the podium and guided over a group of 10-15 people including other guides and families with kids, before coming over with my kid. Then I communicated I was not ok with that.

The landing podiums at this location are on a ledge and I saw how risky other kids were getting unhooked. I saw no difference with ziplining with the guide versus ziplining with a parent. Also the guides were going through the ziplines with 1-3 kids. Also an older man got cut in the arm on one of the lines, the guides did nothing at first. I helped the man rinse his cut the watering station water and then they put him ahead in the line to get through faster.

Other reason I cut stars.. wait time was 45 min as they wanted a bigger group from another booking to arrive rather than get our group of 4 started. Did they communicate this... no. What actually happened, our transport dropped us off. The receptionist checked us in said go left and was were standing around.. sitting around until more people came and then the workers came out.

Positives.. (1) they offer fresh fruit once complete ziplining.. (2) there is a large truck that takes everyone to the top...

My first time zip lining and it was a wonderful experience. I was a bit apprehensive but the tour guide, Ronnie, gave us very good instructions which made me feel at ease and the other tour guides were also giving us reminders at each zip and took good care. Additionally, his team was well organized in executing the zips and safety measures were exercised at all times. Thanks Ronnie, Danny, Diego and Elmer, the photographer and the rest...

Awesome place to zipline. Very nice and knowledgeable guides. We felt very safe. At the end they only charged us $20 total for like 25 pictures. Sent to our email...no prints.

The following river cruise was very informative and interesting. Especially the crocks being fed by the captain...his fingers inches from those teeth! Lots of colorful birds.
