Bota Windsurf Center — Local services in Jelsa

Probably the best windsurfing location on the island of Hvar. Located almost right opposite of Bol on the island of Brac, the mistral winds here in the summer are usually stronger than elswhere on Hvar. The windsurf center mostly caters to visitors from the nearby camp. These are often regulars who come there for years, usually whole families of windsurfers. The windsurfing spot is pretty scenic, with Zecevo island and its turquise waters being the first reach you would normally surf to, and than, further up, the Hvar channel. The access to sea is pretty limited via small dock and stone flatbed but sufficient for the size of the spot. The center rents all the windsurfing equipment you would expect to find, with a couple of brands dominating the offer. Also, you can take windsurfing lessons. Nice place for windsurfing, for all difficulty levels. Both for beginners (in the morning, when there's less wind) and for more experienced surfers (in the afternoon, when there's more wind). They offer normal priced rental services for the equipment needed to surf. You can surf alone but also with an instructor in one of the two 6 hour courses they provide, one for beginners and a follow-up course for those that have taken...

Nikica is a fantastic teacher, I felt 100% safe with him on the water. I started the beginner's course and i'm sure i'll be back soon to continue because I received extensive knowledge and we practiced everything as long as I needed it.
