Very bad management of this I believe nice place. I went up in the morning at 7 and at 8:30 I was with the car up on the mountain to the entrance from the natianal road to national park road. Here the "ranger" was having very strange behaviour with tourists, meaning he was somehow upset and irritated and yalling to tourist that the place is full and we need to wait 4 hours, at least, till we can enter, no additional explanation nothing, just a group of co-nationals which was laughing to each car which have get the same answer. After I was turning the car back on the side of the road "the ranger" came to us and was saying to move the car away. Practically we were invited to leave the mountain with a bad taste of inhospitable guy who don't know how to behave with tourists. The date of attempt was 12Aug2020. I suggest to not spent time at least with the car. If you are in the mood of hiking maybe its a good choice. Another unpleasant situation was that the place is closed even for foot walking in interval 20:00 - 08:00. No Perseids for us from high altitude. Plan carefully your visit to this place if you don't want to have a bad day...
Read moreFantastic view for fearless drivers :) You can go with a car if you are really a good driver otherwise it's better to have an organized tour. I have followed hiking route from Vosac, its needed around 1.5-2 hours to reach the top from parking in Kupusnjak. Its almost all the time is car road and the last part you can choice- to follow the car road or to climb with feets. Quite special experience as im not an expert :) but really is not so difficult. There is a restaurant in the middle of road from the entrance to Biokovo (entrance fee is 50 kun for a person in a car, 25 kuna for a person with bicycle) and top of the summit. You will see beautiful horses which sometimes are blocking the traffic. On the top there is a small parking, time is limited 15 minutes but nobody does control. We didn't know that it's not allowed to have a flight with drone as there is no any information but man from biokovo staff was shouting on us and we urgently...
Read moreThis peak is definitely one of those must-visit spots if you’re anywhere nearby. You can get up there in a special electric vehicle, by bike, on foot, or just drive your own car — which, honestly, is a full-on experience in itself. At some points, you're passing other cars with barely a few centimeters between you and a drop. Total adrenaline. The final stretch before the top is especially intense.
At the summit, the building was closed when we went in mid-May, so we couldn’t go inside, but we walked around the peak and found this super atmospheric little church. Plus, the view down over the winding road below? Unreal.
Panoramic views in every direction — just stunning. The whole thing really leaves a mark. Going back down wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought it would be. Wild experience.
There’s also a viewpoint and the skywalk about halfway up, but I’ll leave thoughts on that for the proper...
