Don't bother with this island, which has nothing to do with the photos. The beach reminded me more of a swamp than an exotic island: very shallow, with sand which yields to the foot as if it was mud and water that is blurry rather than crystal clear as the photos might suggest. Adding insult to injury, a sewerlike stench emanated from the area next to the beach bar. Overall, a waste of money (the trips to this swamp range from 80$ to 110+$, for those who want to spend 10 mins with poor captive dolphins in a nearby island) and time (3 hour trip + 4 hour stay). Be smart (not like me) and avoid visiting it: your disappointment...

The beach wasn’t nearly as nice as the one at the resort and as a vegan, I didn’t try any of the lobster or shrimp. I did hear from other people who were there with me that the lobster and shrimp weren’t cooked especially well. All I had was the pasta which was actually quite good. Read moreGone twice now. Great beach , food was relatively adequate (if u like seafood it's a plus) .. beautiful waters in general. I did the basic catamaran the first time ; this 2nd time we did the catamaran with the added feature of the dolphins. Worth it especially as a first time experience.
The 2 main land animals you can see while eating @ the buffet are some kind of lizard /iguana and the mini capybara -like rodent. They're mostly harmless but they like to come around you while eating to get any...
