Lidt specielt er tårnet placeret på nordsiden, fordi det ellers ville komme for tæt på ustabil grund ved vandet. Smukt beliggende på spidsen af Jungshoved ved siden af Valdemar Sejers gamle kongeslot (ruin).

Jungshoved Kirke er smukt beliggende nær bredden af Stavreby Nor og tæt ved hvor Jungshoved Slot engang lå.

Kirkens ældste del er bygget i årene 1225-1250 i senromantisk stil, medens den sidste del af kirken er opført i 1400-tallet i sengotisk stil. Kirken er med sin meget historiske og spændende indretning, herunder bl.a. døbefonden med relieffer af Bertel Thorvaldsen, et oplagt udflugtsmål.

Prædikestolen i højrenaissance er fra omkring 1605-10, skabt i det Schrøderske værksted i Næstved. Rester af gotiske kalkmalerier ses på hvælvene og korets nordvæg. Kirken er teglhængt og kalket hvid. Den blev restaureret i 1960-61, hvor den fik nyt egetræsorgel. Altertavle med Thorvaldsens-relief. Norske...
