Boogies Punta Cana — Local services in Higüey

Gift shop is absolutely horrible. They don't have prices written anywhere and the salesman tried to sell us two bottles of Mama Juana for 270$. We bargained for ~$100, but eventually found out that in our hotel's gift shop (which is not cheap buy any means) they cost less than 50$ (including taxes). And on top of it both bottles turned out to be quite bad, far from the tasting samples they offered in the shop. The buggy ride was pretty ok, although buggies were a bit worn out and I would've preferred a faster pace. After the ride there was a show/excursion, a pool party in the cave, dinner and a boogie show. And this was really awesome. The guides are the best, the food & drinks are tasty, the staff is very friendly and enthusiastic and the boogies are top tier 🙂.

Overall I liked the tour and it would have been a solid 5 stars, but the first impression of the gift shop and later understanding that we were ripped off in such blunt manner ruins...

Definitely exciting, fun drive! However, be aware that there are several stops where the goal is to get your money! At one particular stop, at Macao Beach, there is a guy that walks around with an iguana. He agrees to a price for photos with the iguana and then raises the price once the photos are taken. Then, if you pay with a larger bill, he claims that he doesn't have change at the moment but that he will bring it to you. He then walks away and hides until your group needs to leave to continue the adventure. In other words, be very aware of the thieves at the stops when you do the Boogie Adventure! Best excursion i have been on. I went alone as a single so was in a Polaris Razr alone. It had poured rain the day before so that made the drive a bit slower, but awesome! Puddles everywhere. The drive was great. We stopped for tastings along the way, went to a cave to swim in the bottom if you wanted to, then to a beach for 30 minutes.
