LOVED this place. There is a spectacular view from the camp owing to its height. From the mountain you can see for miles and miles across the plains. The staff are lovely: Lindi felt like an aunt to me from the moment she introduced herself and this was true of our whole stay. The food is excellent-simple, sourced from the community and cooked on-site, so it's fresh, full of flavour and healthy, with some great vegetarian/vegan options. Rooms are clean and have a nice temperature. I loved that the shower was "outside" facing the view. This is in the mountains, so be aware there are a fair few critters, This was part of the fun to be honest. There is no electricity apart from the charging facility in the eating area, although gas and solar lamps are available. I'd recommend bringing a head torch too. There is no wifi, although you can sometimes get a signal on your phone. I'd highly recommend taking the tour of the local community as the mountain camp was built to benefit them and it's a lovely insight into what their daily lives are like. You can take portraits but ask...

Like taken out of a fairytale. This place certainly takes you away from your everyday worries. For having modest infrastructure (no electricity and dirt roads) the accommodation still offers comfortable facilities with nice touches such as showers with views over most of Eswatini.

The location is incredible. Far up on a mountain plateau with the charming village of Shewula close by. Everyone of the community members are very welcoming and friendly. Their informative and make sure you’re stay is perfect. The village tour and sangoma tour offers a great glimpse into the Swazi culture and allows you to meet some very interesting and good hearted people.

The prices are very affordable and the food prepared by the staff is plentiful and based on local recepies.

This is a must for an authentic experience when traveling to...

shewula was an amazing experience. my group and i didn't so much research beforehand so no power in the room was a surprise! but there was a charging place in the kitchen

The staff was amazing and well accommodating. They made amazing food. We even took the opportunity to cook with them and learned how to cook some of the local dishes.

The food satisfied my soul. Homecooked with care. I miss it everyday since leaving.

The view from the top of the mountain was beautiful. The sunset was the best. It was quite chilly in the evenings, so make sure to bring some light layers for dinner time especially!

But make sure to bring enough cash to not only pay for your stay and meals, but for souvenirs and tips for community members as part of the village walk, cultural dance,...

A beautiful place with breathtaking views and beautiful people that is run by the community. I couldn’t imagine a better way to get to know the culture for my first day in Eswatini. The traditional food is delicious and the activities are really enriching. My boyfriend and I did a cultural walk and visited a local sangoma (healer). I hope to come back in the future ❤️

The most incredible camp!! The community is some of the kindest people you will ever meet, the food is absolutely incredible, and the view overlooking Swaziland the whole way to Mozambique is hard to put into words! We had the most wonderful time there and hope we can visit again someday soon!!
