Tullu Dimtu is the fourth highest peak in Ethiopia after Ras Dashen, Ancua, and Kidus Yared. Tullu Dimtu is on the Sanetti Plateau in the Bale Mountains of Oromia Region in southeast Ethiopia, within Bale Mountains National Park. It forms part of the divide between the drainage basins of the Weyib and Shebelle Rivers.

Beautiful 4000 meter plateau and 4300 meter peak. Cold, windy , covered in low alpine vegetation, numerous african rodents including mole rats, and the ethiopian wolf. We saw a wolf twice, from about 50 meters away. A dirt road traverses the plateau and reaches the peak. We had a fantastic guide, ebrahim Ahmed, who knew every plant and animal by English and Latin name, their habits and conservation status, and conversed in good English. What an adventure!
