Hanusarstova — Local services in Æðuvík

I had the most amazing stay at Hanusarstova with Harriet and her family. The accommodation is absolutely stunning and spotless. You have everything you need to be completely self-sufficient. There is a well-stocked supermarket in the town (5 minute drive away). The bed was super comfortable and the hot shower was very welcoming after a day out exploring the stunning area. You can watch the rare Faroese horses who are often grazing outside the window, and of course there is the instagram famous ram Elias who is usually glued to Harriet’s side. Being able to see Faroese farming life being lived right in front of you makes this place really unique. The farm tour in April 2024 with Harriet was a wonderful experience! Up close with the animals, I learned a lot about life on a farm, the hard work in harsh weather conditions, and touching stories about the animals.

After feeding the sheep, we sat down to enjoy a cozy Faroese coffee break with delicious cake. Afterwards, we were able to purchase cards, posters, and much more featuring the charming flower crowned sheep in the shop.
