Saksun's Black sand beach — Local services in Saksun

Visited in May 2025. There is a parking lot available on the left side of the road as you approach the start point. I was happy to see the paid turnstile was no more. There is a wood gate to walk through. The trail starts off paved, transitions to rock/dirt, before it becomes sand the rest of the way. It is a very pleasant hike. I did check the tides before we went, and we had no issues. You will pass the lagoon and a nice waterfall before you reach the beach area. Very relaxing nature. As of September 2025 no hiking fee. Look up tide charts before your hike, as there are some spots you cant cross with high tide.

I was at the beach in the morning and had the whole thing for myself. Stunning cliffs and a view out to the sea to remember. Takes with some photo stops about 1,5h to return to the parking.
