This island is beautiful it is postcard perfect with beautiful turquoise warm waters lots of shallow safe areas to swim with reefs 100s of meters away from the shoreline all around the island. The island is home to a few locals and they have a small school for the kids there. Lots of areas to snorkel with heaps of fish life. The locals will happily tell you some good spots to swim. As well as that they are more than happy to take you for a trip around the island in one of their wooden boats for a small fee. We got them to drop us off at a good location recommended by them to snorkel. He even spotted some Giant trevally for us to check out. No shops as such on this island but the locals do have some of their local cuisine for purchase as well as hand crafted items. Lastly a must do is to walk up the hill to the highest point its not that hard but in the humidity i do recommend taking plenty of water and allow about an hour to do that. When u get back down you can just jump back in for a swim virtually anywhere. The views are 360 degrees of stunning amazingness (haha). You can get a real perspective of the island itself as well as truly appreciate the amazing colours of the water and surrounding reefs as well as all the other beautiful...
Read moreBelonging to Fiji islands is one of the more than 330 islands, in there 170 people live, and the island is open for tourism. Tender island in which the locals rent their own snorkel gear and kayaks, locals will be offering souvenirs and massages, but if you expect to try local food, don't do it, because they do not sell it. Besides that, you can just walk the island. There are 2 tracks which will take you just around to see the nature. You could walk all over in about 2 hours, just make sure you have comfortable shoes and that they can get wet, because besides the tracks you can walk where the sand is but the rocks are very sharp. Be careful with the jellyfish as there will be a lot. On the tracks you will see stone beds that are their cementery, which they will be adorn. Goods are proided from other islands which are reachable by boat. So do not expect any transportation. Boat tours for 10 dollars (which ever currency you have) will be provided just around the...
Read moreI visited by cruise ship in Jan of 2017, and I agree with Joel but would add more about the beautiful beach. To many visitors the beach is the most important part of the Dravuni experience. It is about 20 meters of fine sand that separates the water from a lovely green jungle (palm trees, etc.), and it seems to stretch a mile or so south from the tender port. Up until about 11 AM we were in the shade because of the close by trees. The clear water is a warm shallow bay that is very much alive with sea grass and corals. There are rentals for snorkeling gear at US $10 for the day. It is a little difficult to snorkel due to the shallow water, and we found ourselves in only 30 cm. of water at some places making it difficult to keep from damaging the coral. Even 200 meters out one could stand up in waist deep water. Most of the fish that we saw were quite small, brightly colored tropical fish. This was one of the top experiences of our...
