The arrival of Christianity in Oneata

History tells us that Reverend William Cross and David Cargill landed in Lakeba in October 1835 and they were the first missionaries that arrived in Fiji. What is not generally known is that a remarkable son of Lau, first brought Christianity to Oneata 5 years earlier in 1830. It was there that they built the first Christian Church in Fiji.
