I booked myself and two adults for the full day cruise and I was able to take advantage of the season discount (who doesn't love a discount). You need to reserve your tickets in advance via e-mail or phone and then pay either over the counter at Port Denarau or you can pay online (web booking). Arriving on the day of our cruise it was a bit chaotic as there are many day cruises departing from the port at different times and a variety of cruise companies so prepare yourself and just listen out for your day cruise announcement. The actual cruise is lovely and I'd recommend sitting on the deck. Don't forget your SPF 50, hat and beach towel! Stop is made at the Malamala Beach Club first. Lunch was delicious but a bit slow in terms of having the BBQ ready. I was a bit surprised that steamed dalo wasn't on the buffet table (you can't have BBQ in Fiji without dalo or cassava). Didn't like the noodle salad. A kumala salad would've been better. BBQ fish steaks would've been ideal too or chicken drums. Really liked the curry but the rice was a bit overdone. Sausages were tasty though! Traditional dance performance after lunch. Lots of water activities available but no pool noodles or boogie boards. There is a small pool on the island. I think there should be a day cruise slot that leaves at 9:30/10am and departs at 6/6:30pm. Lots of areas to chill and relax if not on the sun lounger. If you've not done a day cruise yet then this one would be a great...
Read moreA great day trip from Nadi, Fiji. You can book via calling them directly, online or through your hotel desk. There is a 2.5% extra charge if you pay by credit card. Hotel pickup and drop-off is included. Unlimited lunch (veg, non-veg), water, soft drinks and beer are included in the price. The boat starts from port Denarau at 8:45 AM and it is a 30-minute ride from there. There are a plenty of restaurants at the port if you want to grab something for breakfast. The island is full of activities like Snorkeling, scuba diving (extra charge), kayaking, paddleboard, sub-marine adventure, massage (extra charge), entertainment (except Sundays), pool for adults and kids. If you want to do all these activities, you will be busy whole day and should book a whole day trip to the island which will bring you back around 6 PM. If you just want to have fun for half a day, then go in the morning and come back in the afternoon taking a boat that will take a long route going through the other islands while coming back. When you reach in the morning, grab a nice place to sit first. There are sufficient bathrooms and changing rooms. My scuba diving instructor "SOGA" was very nice and friendly. He provided clear instructions and a lot of personal attention. A special thanks to him for making my first diving experience so memorable. I personally think this is a must do activity if you have a day in Nadi. Have fun!!! Instagram...
Read moreHaving visited this and Malamala within days I’d say I enjoyed the other for bang for buck. The bbq is adequate and the unlimited drinks is great for those who want to go on a boozy day trip to an island but probably not great value for families with kids. The snorkelling is great. Especially in morning and even just off the coast. It’s also more coral heavy so maybe take reef shoes. The boat with the glass deck below not so great as it’s claustrophobic and the quality of air down there is horrid (could smell the fumes through the a/c). Couldn’t wait to get to the top deck for fresh air. Also need to transfer to the island on small boats which matters in terms of convenience if you have little kids. Note: take your own towels! They don’t provide any and shower etc is much more basic & dated than Malamala. Don’t get me wrong the island itself is great hence the overall 4 star rating. The above are things to consider when choosing from the multitude of day...
