The archipelago trail (Saariston rengastie) is something that you may wish to plan well beforehand. This about 250km long route with 8 ferries (7 free ones) can provide an enjoyable drive and some nice sceneries but should be planned for. The roads are mostly inland, very small roads where you will not see the shoreline. The accommodation must be booked early as there may not be anywhere to stay otherwise.
