A Nightwish Story Exhibition — Local services in Central Karelia

I have been a fan of Nightwish for a very long time and when I was in Kitee in January I was disappointed to find that this museum was not that far away from the hotel that I was staying in. So I decided to go back to Kitee in July and to visit the museum and wow it was well worth the wait. it cost me €15 to go in and just before you go in properly you are shown a documentary on the start of the band to the present day. I found out a lot of things about the band which I didn't know about and I thought I knew everything about Nightwish. After going around I was then taken to the basement where the bands live stuff is kept. This is in a very secure building with access only by the staff that work there. There is plenty of merchandise on sale here with a few things that you can't buy anywhere else. There is also a soundproof room so you can sing any song and it doesn't have to be a Nightwish one. There is a place on one of the walls that you can leave a message for the band and if you are lucky enough you may meet a certain Mr Holopainen who is seen regularly in Kitee. I was not that lucky maybe...

Kävimme täällä 5.8. Asiakaspalvelu oli todella, siis todella(!) tylyä. Tottuneena museokävijänä puolisoni kysyi asiallisesti, hieman ajatuksissaan, että olemmehan tulleet oikeaan paikkaan "Nightwish-museoon". Aspa vastasi varsin epäkunnioittavaan äänensävyyn: "Se on NÄYTTELY." ja vaikutti jopa loukkaantuneelta, että hänen näyttelyäänhän ei väärällä termillä kutsuta (paikkaahan mainostetaan Googlessa kategorian "Kulttuuriperinnöllinen museo" alla - se on siis museo)

Tämän lisäksi emme saaneet minkäänlaista ohjeistusta siitä, että näyttely jatkuu alakerrassa, emmekä siksi tulleet käyneeksi siellä. Pettymys, kun kuitenkin täysi hinta maksettiin lipuista.

Sisällöllisesti ei ole pahaa sanottavaa itse näyttelystä, mutta ikävä maku jäi silti aspan takia. Mielellään tulisi toistekin - katsomaan vielä myös sen alakerran puolen, jonka olemassaolosta ehkä kannattaisi kertoa muutenkin kuin iskemällä esitteen kouraan, jota lukemalla asia olisi selvinnyt (huomiomme ei kuitenkaan ollut esitteen lukemisessa vaan näyttelyn sisällössä).
