Fårholmen — Local services in Helsinki sub-region

Great escape near the city, you wouldn't say you are just 20min out of the centre by the nature around you. Wide pathways through the reet make it also accessible for people with strollers or wheel chairs. The island itself is not that easy any more but the pathways and view points is more than half the charm of the nature area! A must visit, in autumn or winter really great, but remember to take some snack and (hot) drink with you as there are no stores nearby. But please take your rubbish...

Hidden gem in the heart of Helsinki. Ideal place for nature lovers. Great for kids with well maintained wooden board paths and quite doable 3.7 km hike. The bird watching tower gives you great views. Great place to go for a walk, go for a picnic or birdwatching. It's near Helsinki so it's very easy to access. It can get a bit busy on sunny and warm days. The only downside is that there are not any toilets. At least i have not...
