It is very nice point to start hiking in the UKK national park. Kiilopää is easy to reach via flight to Ivalo and then by bus from the airport or by train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi and then by bus. Kiilopää has hotel rooms and bungalows as well as hostel. There are classic and smoked sauna. Even you don’t take a room you can take shower there after the hiking and have lunch or dinner.

Really easy hiking route from the parking. The short route is about 2 km in top and the same back. There is few signs a long the way to tell you facts about the Finnish nature. Definitely worth to visit!

Upea paikka tarkkailla UKK alueen maisemia. Kesäisin hyvällä säällä tuulettomana päivänä lumoavan sininen horisontti ja tunturimasema vetävät sanattomaksi. Helppo kulkuinen ja selkeä reitti ylös asti Tunturiikeskus kiilopään parkkipaikalta. Loppupäässä puiset portaat ylös asti. Syksyisin upea paikka katsella ruskaa. Talvella myös upeat maisemat, suosittelen pukeutumaan lämpimästi ja suojaamaan kasvot. Tuuli voi yllättää tunturilla. Talvella portaat eivät useinkaan ole näkyvissä tunturille kiivetessä vaan lumen peitossa.

Great venue for a half-day to full-day hiking. The trail to the hill top is easy to climb with a one-way distance of around 2 kilometres.
