Reindeer farm Toini Sanila — Local services in Northern Lapland

After few hours riding snow motorcycle on frozen river , we were|welcome to a nice warm dining rooms coffee and tea were generously |served |We were a group of 27 , some got the cabins and some stayed at the main house.|The 5 rooms at the main house | where nice, clean and |We all shared a one big bathroom |That was clean and have a Sauna room and 3 toilets |Can't tell exactly details about the cabins but no one complained so it may be alright.|We ate diner and breakfast at the main house. In our group were vegetarians, gluten free, no nuts, no Milk and the hostess did everything so evry one get what he or she needs. We definitely felt they were trying hard for each of us |Hot drinks were freely at the main house all the time |The hotel is 5 min walk from the river where you can go when dark, to look for the Aurora...

While accomodation is very basic at the best, service is very good. Accomodation is cheap, and even cheaper, if you use your own linen, and price includes sauna. ||||We asked very early breakfast, which was arranged at six in the morning! Both dinner and breakfast were superb quality and variety, and had good value because that. Sáuteed reindeer was best I have ever had ( and that's a lot said! ), and both starters, dessert and coffee were included in price of the main dish. Prices of the meals are on the high side, but suprisingly good quality ( I would say best in the northern Lappland) and variety of food, with excellent service more than compensated it. ||||Note that area has very low mobile network, so prepare to make your calls...

During a multi-day hike (with tent) I spent one rainy night in a room at Porotila Sanila. Very nice people, nice room with everything I needed. Shared toilet (modernized) right next door in the same building. I only ate an ice cream in the adjoining restaurant (different building) this time. There is a kettle, coffee machine and microwave in the room. Sufficient space for my luggage and the window could be opened wide enough (fresh air). Quiet location.
