What an amazing experience! Catherine is a fabulous, generous host. We stayed in a cabin on-site (minimum 3 nights) and it was spacious, cosy and had everything we needed and more. Catherine loaned us a toboggan and a foot sleigh along with snow shoes. She also provided our kids with warm overalls and boots for the duration of our stay. These were delightful add-ons that made the stay so much more fun for our kids. We had a 3 hour dog sledding experience around / over lakes and through forests . It was one of those unforgettable experiences. Catherine involved us in harnessing the dogs (we also got to meet the puppies!) and we were in control of our own sled—stopping to change ‘driver’. We watched fascinated as the dogs would grab mouthfuls of snow on the run! The peacefulness of the ride was beautiful. The dogs clearly enjoyed it too. Catherine served us blueberry juice and blueberry cake around an open fire to cap-off a lovely morning. We took the opportunity to do a day’s skiing at Olos—about 10mins drive from Doghill. A couple of months back we had an amazing experience with the 10km husky tour. The temperatures were very modest, but we still were able to wear some of their clothes. You won't be cold in the onesie suit and the thick gloves. First we were able to set up the dogs by attaching them to the sled. Of course after the small introduction how to use and communicate with the dogs. The tour was amazing and the nature stunning! The 10km is just perfect, not too short and not too long! After the tour, we removed their harnesses and fed them with some frozen chicken. We went on a 10km husky safari with Catherine. It was amazing from start to finish. She was very friendly and helpful. The dogs were well trained and looked fit. The safari started with clear instructions, to be able to steer yourself. The combination of the beautiful landscape and the hard working dogs made this an unforgettable experience. Halfway through the tour we were able to switch drivers, so we could both experience sledding with Huskies. After the tour we had cake and warm blueberry juice by a wood fire. We even got to hold a super cute 4 week old puppy. Long story short: if you are in Lapland, this is the place to go on a husky safari! Thanks...
