A spectacular way to cross from France to Spain on a three day circuit walk. Definitely the hardest part of the walk. Partly due to the ice on the way up and then over the other side due to not all the group being up for the short cut that required using a chain to hold on across a sheer cliff face.

This is my second time visit Gavarnie, but first time climb up to here, the view from here can see both sides (France & Spain ) very unique, especially the sunset light ! Don't forget wearing a pair of good shoes and snacks

It was named after a brave French army officer who chooses in the 7-8th century to hold the pass with his soldiers rather to join the retreating French army... and this way he saved the king’s life. It is a stoning place, with massive mountain rocks , astonishing feeling to stand in front of pure nature greatness. Worth all efforts to...

Lovely little hotel, clean and comfortable (small rooms but not unmanageably so). Good staff and management, very attentive.

The restaurant is also excellent. We're normally sceptical of hotel restaurants, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Both good value and, more importantly,...
