Wonderful little museum, definitely worth the trip and the €6 entry fee! Skip the big museums and go here instead. The museum tells the story of D51 Deborah, the tank pictured here, which makes up the main room. The display is stunningly lit and preserved, the best preserved WWI tank in existence. You can still smell the fuel and see oil dripping from the engine onto the museum floor. Definitely the most tactile experience of WWI I've had in a museum.

There are three films to watch about the history history of the area, the battle, and the discovery and excavation of this tank and plenty of space to sit if you are with a tour group. There are also interactive displays with broken off parts of the tank and scale models of battles and tanks.

There are also detailed profiles of the crew of Deborah, with photos and artefacts from their time at war. Some of the crew are buried in the graveyard above the museum, it's well worth the 5 minute walk up there and through the peace gardens to visit. The graves are III B8 and III B9, if you would like to find them quicker...

It seems the museum is only open when they feel like it. Definitely not the opening hours on the door. I was fairly disappointed after driving more than 400km to see it and after waiting for 30 minutes I decided to leave. But just as I was getting ready the guy shows up. He's apologetic and accommodating. Can't complain about the service when it finally arrived. If it was just a one time thing I wouldn't have minded it. We all make mistakes, but I can see in the reviews it's a recurring thing. Anyway the tank and the museum around it it quite well done. I like the minimalistic approach to it - it accents the main attraction well. It's fairly small but a good layout...

Two stars for keeping history alive and making this exhibition.

However, the opening hours listed on google are not real, or the owner is very bad at arriving on time. I saw other people have this happen to them aswell. We drove a long way to the museum because there are no other ww1 sites nearby, then we waited for 30 minutes past 14:00 and no one showed up.

Neither of the phone numbers worked listed on google and on the door, and the opening hours on the door are incomprehensible. I was really looking forward to seeing this so please at least say on google that you...

A highly engaging combination of Cambrai during the war, stories of personal sacrifice and the significance of the tank, wrapped up within the overall picture of First World history. The authenticity and realism added by the unearthed carcass of the tank "Deborah" from the Battle of Cambrai is brilliant. Overall an excellent museum and defintely worth a trip no matter your level of interest in the First World War.

Certainly worth a look to get an idea of the potential nuances of the operation of these vehicles, especially if you have not been up close and personal with other examples before. I wasn't expecting it to be so damaged and bare inside due to not having seen up close pics previously. Accompanying info and memorabilia could be I'mproved upon but it seems a solid start to an exhibit with great potential.
