Hi
I sincerely strongly recommend staying at this chalet located in the heart of the Gorges du Verdon. An ideal place to end the day after walking the Blanc-Martel trail (or to start/continue from this point on other trails). We were warmly welcomed with an incredibly tasty, hearty meal and very good beer . Of course, other drinks are also on offer
In addition, you can have breakfast here and replenish your drinking water supply (in bottles) if you intend to sleep outdoors before setting off. Overall prices for accommodation and meals very reasonable. The quality of service provided is also more than decent. You can sleep in comfort without noise. And the view of the canyon. The place has a terrace with a picturesque view of the Gorge du Verdon. It is even worth stopping there by car to have a coffee and admire the amazing view
Note a rather important and changing thing. The site has showers depending on the level of the mountain water supply, which means you can't always wash up while staying there overnight. Therefore, before going to this place and making a reservation, it is advisable to read the current information about the conditions of accommodation on the website or simply call the hosts. Most importantly, the hosts who are extremely friendly, open and hospitable taking care of every detail so that you can have the best possible rest, ensuring that you do not lack anything. And on top of that they cook very well. We were pleasantly surprised by the level of welcome, the quality of service and the atmosphere created by Geraldine, Fabrice, Cedric and Maline. You can have very pleasant conversations with them in which there is room for jokes. Generally you can take it easy, chill with them which makes you relaxed and not tense. If you're reading this, I salute you!
I think I will return to this place if I am in the area. Even for a...
Read moreI'm a white-haired geezer who still loves nature, which is why I went to the Gorge of Verdon, where I took great hikes and met great people, NOT including the folks at the Chalet.||I had two experiences there on two different days, the first merely annoying, the second really negative.||1) after hiking down one side of the gorge and up the other, then back down and back up again, I arrived at the chalet tired and hungry around 8:30 PM. I asked if I could eat there and they gave me a curt 'no' although there were other people dining. I shrugged and left. But while i was walking to my car, a French woman who had witnessed the exchange came up to me and said she thought they were very unpleasant about it. Actually, she used an unprintable French expression that sounds even stronger coming from a woman. Again, I shrugged.||2) At the end of a second hike in the gorge, I was walking down the path to the parking lot when I encountered a very angry dog who took strong exception to my presence. I love dogs and know them well enough to tell when things are getting serious and this was about to get out of hand. The dog's owner, who works at the Chalet, was right behind. He saw the whole thing and was very slow to intervene. Finally, he restrained his animal and gave me a grudging apology. I also know humans well enough to see when someone is sincerely sorry, and this guy wasn't.||Some people say this place is welcoming. I give them Zero...
