Stunning and well maintained this canal,there are many places to camp along the bank and even open fires are tolerated if kept within safety/ sensibility parameters,and the lock keepers don't bite,despite the rumors, just greet them with a friendly bonjour!

Balade sur une partie du canal de Nantes à Brest en partant de Pont-Coblant (commune de Pleyben -29), c'était extra ! Nous avons profité d'un temps magnifique, mais je pense que par n'importe quel temps c'est super, pas de turpitudes urbaines, juste la nature, les oiseaux, les bruits de l'eau , à chaque virage une image différente, et même si notre pique-nique était simple, cela devient un repas de roi de manger là ! Mais si vous décidez de faire un pique nique, n'oubliez pas d'emporter avec vous un sac pour les déchets car il n'y a pas de poubelles publiques, il y a des tables et des bancs en bois.

I think you need to either do the canal by day walking and an overnight stay each night 🌙 or take each section for a week and it. It is amazing and such a lot of history to be had as well as scenery...
