A rather odd place if you were to look it up but you will be pleasantly surprised. There are good walks around the valley both up and down the river/lake. You can also get a great view from just above the barrage. There is good information around the building of the barrage and how it looks just below the barrage where you will find plenty of parking. There is also a good area for climbing.

C'est un magnifique endroit. Ce site respire la quiétude. Un ptit détour qui vaut le coup

Visite extérieure du barrage gratuite et très intéressante. Il faut réserver. Du belvédère, vue sur la retenue d'eau. Seul bémol quand on habite loin : la visite de l'intérieur et celle de l'extérieur n'ont pas lieu le même jour. Au prix du carburant ces temps-ci, il serait préférable d'organiser l'une le matin et l'autre l'après-midi, non ?

Parked at the top car park but all the footpaths were overgrown so couldnt get to the dam.itself. it was stunning. Went to the beach on the lake too. Amazing. Will return...
