This is the first time I have actually had to request a refund and leave a site, we actually chose the alternative of having to find another place to stay with no notice. On arrival at the site I was second in the queue at reception to book in, with no one behind me. I asked the female receptionist if she spoke English (in French), which she confirmed but told me to wait, which was fine. When the family in front of me left, I was then ignored for a time, and then when I said I’d made a reservation through pitchup.com, I was met with a blank stare. I said my name and showed them the booking confirmation email, and then the two people behind the counter started looking through the paperwork. The female receptionist confirmed I had paid but owed city tax of €1.88, which needed to be paid in cash. We didn’t bring any cash with us on this holiday; to be honest since Covid, we’ve found more places than not refuse to accept cash, so we do everything on card. We were able to pay city tax on card upon arrival when we arrived at a hotel in Strasbourg. I explained I only had card and the woman repeated “cash”. Had she perhaps said “there’s a cash point at XYZ” or offered some other solution, rather than just barking the word ‘cash’, I might have been happier. I replied “I’ve only got card, so shall we just sort a refund now?” To which she then said “well you’ll have to pay after”. I replied “OK,” then the receptionist just moved across and started booking in the French family who had walked in behind me. The younger, male receptionist handed me a piece of paper and explained the WiFi charges and gate code, to which I then asked “where do I go?” As I had not received any information about where we were to pitch our camper van. The female receptionist turned away from the French family she had booked in and just said “wait,”. After standing there waiting for about 2-3 minutes, becoming more and more aware that this was a snub - as why would you start booking in another family when you haven’t finished the booking you were on - I walked out to where my partner was waiting with the van and said let’s just leave. Aside from the rudeness issue, there is also a clipping of a newspaper article in reception explaining that due to the heavy rainfall recently, there is a parasite in the water, so although it’s fine for showering and swimming, you cannot drink the tap water. This article is dated over a week before we made our booking online, so the site had every opportunity to inform us of the issue. When my partner went in to try and finish sorting the booking, he was presented with a 2L bottle of water; two adults, and a dog, and we’d booked & paid for two nights. When he asked how we were meant to cope without water, he was told “you can buy it in town”. At this point, having had a walk round the site and been underwhelmed with what it offered (it’s fine, but nothing spectacular either facilities or view wise), we decided to ask for a refund and move on. NB British travellers - the electric hook up wasn’t standard, so this is another reason to avoid!

We were here for a few days. Very friendly service! They speak good english, so communication was very easy. With the check in, she drove us around the site and we got to choose our own spot where we wanted to set up. Toilet block an showers are all very clean. Believe they are cleaned multiple times a day. Well kept! Washing and dryer machine coins can be bought at the reception. Locations as well is nice! All sites have a separation between them and are covered in shadows, so it doesn't get too hot! 😁 If it does get a bit hot, the swimming pool is a good escape. Big enough for the whole camping and also kept very clean. Overall we had a really nice time. Visited Nice, only half an hour away and a few towns around the campsite. Lots to do. Very much recommend this camping.

A hidden gem, but not on low price! We szyed only for an overnight - were bit surprised about 56Eur for 2 adults, a 6 and a 4 year old child and electricity (wifi was not in price). However, we haven’t seen during our GoogleMaps search what lot this camping offers. It had restaurant, very large pool and a small child pool, restaurant, small shop with fresh bagettes in the morning, indoor play room, etc.. probably a longer stay is really worth it here. And finally a camping which was safe - physically closed during night and fenced around - you got a keycode for night gate opening. In 25 min drive on motorway we could reach a P+R in Nice.

We rented a smaller mobile home and were very pleased with the whole experience. Les Pinedes is well situated for exploring the coast of Southern France and the mountains - for a great easy day out we can highly recommend the nearby town of St Paul de Vence. ||The site itself is friendly and the owners and team made us feel welcome and included. ||There is nothing negative to report about this experience, the site is well maintained, it has a small shop which opens twice daily in high season for delicious bread and croissants etc which are baked on the premises, from the shop you can also hire a gas BBQ. ||Other facilities include a good laundry block, restaurant (we didn't sample this), excellent children's play park, outdoor badminton and table tennis, outdoor workout area for adults, boule pitches, and football area. The site is also home to 2 lovely friendly donkeys whom were often grazing right outside our window in their paddock, the children loved it. ||We must not forget to mention the outdoor heated swimming pool, it's very clean, and has a nice safe separate paddling pool for children, the main pool got busy with ball games every afternoon (which could be annoying as they had a tendency to take up the shallow end), but I could still manage a swim, and we never had a problem finding a sun lounger (they are free to use). The pool has a small bar which serves wine, beer, and soft drinks, ice creams, but food is not permitted by the pool. It is worth noting for the British gents that the speedo only rule is enforced vigorously! For any ladies not comfortable with the idea of bikinis do not panic, there were still plenty of ladies in a one piece!! ||The whole site was a pleasure to stay at, it was clean, very quiet but had enough happening to make it feel happy (ie welcome drinks, a unobtrusive party night one night, kids club, fitness class in the mornings etc) our mobile home was very clean and we were pleased. ||||Top tips: The site is built in terraces and the pool is close to the bottom of the site, worth bearing in mind if booking if you are unable to walk up hills (although we did note that the site seems to have some buggys so it's worth inquiring if you are concerned) the children's park is at the top. ||||Being British we conform to the cliche of liking a big cup of tea even in the 30 degree heat, we discovered on arrival that the mobile home has no kettle and no large cups suitable for tea so we had to nip out and buy 2 large mugs and boil our water on the stove all holiday, so travel kettle and mugs are needed if you are like us! Otherwise the home had everything we needed. ||||On arrival we were pleased to find a welcome pack of: matches, sponge cleaner, cloth, toilet roll and a lovely bottle of wine, after a 1000 mile drive it was more than welcome! ||||Thank you Les Pinedes we had a fantastic holiday (the...
