Climbing is a little strenuous on the way up, but the start is the hardest. The top is worth all the walking as it gives you a beautiful view of the mountain range all the way up, but once you are at the top, it becomes even more magnificent somehow. Lots of signs to guide your walking and you can take the cable car up and walk down etc. It's nice to go up during a cooler climate as you are quite exposed the whole way up. There are some leisure activities at the top in which you can zip line all the way back down to the town or mountain bike down (We saw many people doing this)....
Read moreFantastic hike to the top of Puy de Sancy! It is quite demanding and took us about 1.5h to reach the top on foot via the ski slopes. We went off season and the gondolas were not operating, but you can still go up on foot. The views are amazing all the way. There is a toilet at the hut just before the stairs to the top begin, it is open all hours, even off season. The trail up is steep, be aware of the loose rocks. But it is all so worth it! 🤩💪 PS.
