My family have flown in and out of Limoges Bellegarde many times and it's usually not a bad experience. However, this time it was.
The airport is small. We actually love this, as it feels more friendly and intimate, but I expect it will inevitably grow due to so many passengers, which seems to get worse every time.
Yesterday (20 Feb 2025) we dropped our two teenagers there for a flight to Stansted. They are both autistic and suffer from anxiety, so to build their confidence we have been trying to get them to fly without us (the last 2 times they have returned solo to the UK where they live with their mother). Yesterday we left them at Bellegarde, only to get a text later saying that the flight had been delayed. All passengers were eventually escorted off the plane and back into the terminal and into the restaurant/cafe. The plane was supposed to leave at 17:05 but ended up departing at around 21:30.
While passengers were issues food vouchers, due to their timid natures and good manners, my two children did not push to the front of the queue. As a result, when they got to the counter there were no more sandwiches or any other food left. They ended up buying crisps. They had a bag of instant noodles in a rucksack, and shared this between them. So: they hadn't eaten since breakfast, and they shared crisps and a block of dry noodles for dinner. They had asked for two cups of hot water to make the noodles palatable, but were refused.
This is frankly disgusting. I'm terribly upset with the restaurant, which we used to frequent. We will never be going in there again.
The children had lanyards indicating their autism, yet these were ignored. We don't expect special treatment, but the airport staff have an obligation to look after vulnerable passengers and they failed to do so. Very, very disappointing. To make matters worse, when I went of the airport website to say all of this, the service was unavailable. The whole incident has left a...

Today I had my fruit conserves and a burger smasher confiscated — both gifts from my mum that held real sentimental value. Apparently they were “potential weapons.” If that’s the logic we’re going with, then frankly anything could be a weapon. Should we all just board the plane naked, limbs tied behind our backs for safety? Because at this point, the only real weapons here are the attitudes and inconsistencies of the security team.
What made this worse — and impossible to ignore — is that I was the only brown person in the queue, and somehow also the only one subjected to the most severe and invasive search. I travel often, and I know what standard security looks like. This wasn’t it. It felt targeted, humiliating, and entirely disproportionate.
And now, after all that, we’re sat in what I can only describe as a pop-up gazebo — no airflow, no amenities, no updates, just stale air and simmering frustration. It’s giving “DIY airport experience,” but no one here signed up for that.
Honestly, do better. Start with treating people like humans — equally and respectfully — and maybe invest in a fan or two while...
Read moreBy far one of the worst experiences I've ever had traveling, one of the worst airports I've been to. The problems I encountered at the security check deeply disappointed me and therefore I do not recommend traveling from this airport. I was told that I had too many bottles of liquids (none of them exceeded 100ml) and the security lady told me that I had to throw them away. She spoke to me in French, I explained to her that I do not speak French and can she speak to me in English which she seemed unable to do so. I had 2 bottles of perfume and 3 face creams. She didn't give me the right to choose what I can keep and what I can throw away and she threw away 1 perfume and all 3 creams. I was shocked by the way she treated me and besides, she threw me the most expensive perfume, it was new, the bottle was sealed and I told her that's the one I want to keep . Deeply disappointed. I have traveled many times and sometimes had several bottles, but I have never experienced anything like this. By far the worst experience. This made me never travel to that...
