Paléospace — Local services in Lisieux

We really enjoyed it! The space seems small, but the museum is divided into diverse sections and full of interesting information (about space, dinosaurs, fossils, etc). The setting is incredible and I would’ve liked to spend more time exploring the swamp and trails just outside; it’s nice that the museum integrates that into their exhibit.

There are a lot of interactive features for children. Older children can borrow tablets to participate in a lot of educational activities. Our son is too little for this, but he enjoyed touching the models of fossils and dinosaurs that can be found throughout the museum, at the appropriate level for the smallest guests 😊

We’ll definitely come back when he is older and he can appreciate the museum and natural...

Just don't bother if you're in a motorhome or camping car unless you plan on spending €19 for 24 hour parking! We don't want to spend the night, we just wanted to visit the paleo museum before heading to the beach for some fossil hunting. A short stop was impossible as despite an almost empty carpark we were not allowed to park at the museum & the road parking bays are for cars, so the only option is an expensive aire next to the museum which only allows 24hrs. What a shame. This area definitely doesn't want our money or tourism even when...

Kleines, übersichtliches Museum. 1-2 h für den Besuch reichen aus. Gratis Parking ungedeckt, keine EV-Ladestationen. Leider sind einige interaktive Exponate teils defekt/ausgeschalten (siehe Bilder), unser Kind hat weder das Kinderguide noch das Tablet bekommen für den Besuch, andere Kinder scheinbar doch. In der Ausstellung ist niemand vom Personal (nur am Empfang) und sobald man den Eintritt bezahlt hat, ist man für sie unsichtbar. Audioguide ist mittels QR code zugänglich und viel Text in einem nicht gerade für jüngeres Publikum zugeschnitten. Nur ein Teil der Exponate sind aus der Region. Auch nur ein Teil ist aus dem Zeiralter, welches in der Region auffindbar ist. Vieles sind Leihgaben von Privaten, zT aus anderen Regionen (zB Südengland) und aua anderen Zeiraltern. Und die wirklich interessanten lokalen Funde (v.a. durch Amateure gefunden) sind viele nicht klar bestimmt und/oder in Kontext gestellt. Oder hängen auf 4 m Höhe über den Köpfen der Besucher. Die Ausstellung ist nicht schlecht, aber didaktisch leider jüngeres Publikum nicht abholend.... zumindest nicht ohne Kinderguide Blatt oder Tablett. Wie es mit dem wäre, wissen wir nicht. Der Raum über die Zeitmessung ist irgendwie nicht zum Rest des Museums passend. Das Paleo-Lab war nicht besetzt und die drei Steine total zerkrazt. Die Stereolupe die Mikrofoasilien zeigend hat nur ein funktionierendes Okular und ist zu wenig stabil und die 5 Exponate sins zu wenig beleuchtet dafür. 9.7 euro für Erwachsene und 7.7 euro für Kinder finde ich für die vielen Versäumnisse leider zu hoch.
