I know more than 100 hundred Lidls between the Baltic countries and Greece. In more than 40-50 cities. But this Lidl ist the most horrible I have ever seen. Because it is next to my Airbnb apartment, I go there nearly every day. Always there a lot of basic products missing. First time I thought there is a big strike in France, because the selbes were so empty. But nie I realize it looks every day like this, no matter what time I go there. One day I saw the manager shouting in front if all customers at a man at the cashier that asked if he could pay part of the products cash, and part with card. She was shouting for minutes to that customer, humiliating him so badly. I told him not to listen to that unprofessional rude woman, that in my opinion doesn't deserve to be manager for a really good German brand. But what was more shocking, that they sold last week chocolate for a lower price. And all 5 tablets I bought were rotten. One was so bad, that I brought it back. But they denied to change it, because I didn't keep the receive for a whole week. Who does that? I informed the German investment group Dchwarz, which owns all Lidls in Europe. And they agreed that all I told them about that bad Lidl is unacceptable. And they will contact Lidl France. I think without getting a message from the head office in Germany, Lidl France doesn't care about customer complaints. Especially when they are written in English. I recommend to walk 500 meters further to go to Aldi. It is much more professional, cleaner, better organized...
Read moreI've noticed this with some super markets in Lyon but somehow I never encountered this behavior in Lidl until today. I'm not french but they absolutely did racial profiling and checked my bag at self checkout. I just purchased 1 Chicken for €4.5 and showed them the bill and the chicken which was in my very small bag. Yet they checked my entire bag like I was a thief! The security person went through my bag by putting his hand inside and checking my contents. This is unacceptable! What do you even sell that requires this level of security check? It's not a Gucci store for god's sake! The security did not check any one except for me! I don't speak french so I couldn't communicate the emotions that I was feeling there so I gave a stern look and left. You guys really need to understand customer service! If you don't trust your security system you should check everyone's bags! I have never seen a single white person being asked by the security to show their bills and we get treated this way for no reason! I have been a regular at this store since I live near it but you just lost a loyal customer. I will go out of my way to not shop from your store...
Read moreLidl in France is a joke compared to the ones in Germany. A cashier young lady who seems to have a bad day or some sort of stupidity at the check out requested to see what's inside my backpack. I opened it and she said okay thanks. She did this only to me. In successive 6 days no other cashier did this with any customer as I am a tourist and buy my grocery every day in those 6 days.
In general employees and especially cashiers are rude in this store.
Consider hiring someone who speaks English as France and Lyon are a top tourist destination and this branch is in the city center and close to the main...
