Climbing the Col de Turini from Sospel was hands down one of the most beautiful rides I’ve ever done. The route winds gently up through lush forest, dramatic rock formations, and sweeping mountain views, it’s the kind of climb that keeps you smiling the whole way up.
Despite its legendary status in motorsport and cycling history, the climb felt peaceful and almost secluded. I rode it in mid-July and barely saw a handful of cars. The road is in great condition, the gradients are steady and manageable, and there’s plenty of shade along the way, which made the summer heat totally bearable.

And while the Col de Turini has been featured in the Tour de France and Monte Carlo Rally, from the bike it feels tranquil and rewarding rather than intimidating. There’s nothing overly steep or harsh, just a beautiful, rhythmic ascent through one of the most scenic parts of the Alpes-Maritimes.

All serpentine roads are technical if you drive professionally and are...
