Menhir de Champ-Dolent — Local services in Saint-Malo

The Menhir de Champ-Dolent... That was certainly something different than the usual tourist experiences. First of all the Menhir is literally in the middle of nowhere... and that's a good thing. Being located inside someone's farming field you have to trespass to actually visit it 😋. Because of the stone's isolated location very few people visit it and you get a unique vibe when there, in the middle of a farmland all alone with the air blowing and a tall mysterious rock towering you. This place is very interesting. The menhir is very impressive. In order to go there, you'll need to take your car or to walk at least for 2 kilometers. Aside of the menhir there is not much to do. The menhir it-self is surrounded by fields. There is a couple of tables in front of the menhir if you want to have a picnic in a bucolic place. En breton, « Men » signifie pierre et « hir » signifie longue. Haut de 9 mètres et dont 4 mètres est enfouie dans le sol , Ce Menhir qui est le deuxième plus grand menhir debout de Bretagne, a été classé aux Monuments Historiques en 1889

La présence de ce Menhir dans la région reste un mystère ! Et beaucoup de questions se pose
