Église Saint-Martin de Jeantes — Local services in Vervins

Interesting church interior which was made in the 1960s. It started when a Dutch priest Mr Suasso was assigned to this "Eglise fortifiée St. Martin" in 1961. He was full of energy and started to modernise the church. He got his friend the Dutch writer and poet Bertus Aafjes involved who in turn asked artist Charles Eijck if he could do the decoration of the church.

Charles Eijck took on the job and moved to the small village from July to Octobre 1962.

In this period he made around 200 square meters of beautiful paintings on the walls and installed five stained glass windows.
