The path to the sulfur pools runs alongside the mountain river Borjomi through the picturesque forest. There are many pretty places to take photos. It is better to visit baths in the morning at about 9 to 10 am. At these hours the place is quiet, calm and there are not too many tourists around. There are three pools with miniral water. The first one is the warmest, you can sit and relax here. The second one is for swimming. The thirs is a cold water pool. You really have to plunge into it with your head after the warm bath if wanna get ultimate experience)) I was there in the middle of october when the air temperature was around 5 degrees Celsius and water in the pools was around 28-30 degrees. Very comfortable. The place is surrounded by mountains making the area absolutely windless. When you get out of the warm pool you will never get cold even if the air is cold. You will have time to wipe and...
Read moreIt took us 3 hours to walk here from the far side of Borjomi. The walk time estimates from Google maps seem to be for fast hikers. In the middle of winter the sun probably shines here sometime around 11:00 to 12:30. It was already shady when we arrived just after 13:00. The water is warm but not hot. Prepare to shiver. If you are fit and in good health it's easy to stay in the water for 10 or 15 minutes even with snow on the ground. Weather forecast for Borjomi was 56 f but it was frozen with snow on the ground here because this place is up a beautiful dark canyon. Pay 5 gel to get into the ultra busy city park, walk a long time, and pay another 5 gel to enter the sulfur pools. Be prepared for winter weather here in the winter, no matter what the Borjomi forecast says. The hike thru the forest to get here once you leave all the rides and vendors is...
Read moreWe had a terrible time at the hot springs near Borjomi. First of all, the water wasn’t even warm – we got in and within minutes realized it was basically cold, despite being advertised as a hot spring. When we politely asked for a refund, the staff became extremely rude and aggressive. Instead of giving us any kind of explanation, they started shouting at us and throwing around all kinds of nonsense excuses. They even used foul language and curses – completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
What shocked us the most was witnessing one of the owners (or staff members) kick a puppy just because it was blocking one of the entrances. It was horrifying and absolutely inhumane. This alone should be enough to make anyone avoid this place.
Avoid this place at all costs. Not only is it a scam, but it’s run by people who clearly don’t care about their customers...
