I went on the six day Svaneti tour in July 2023.
Our guide/driver Nugo was knowledgable, friendly and easy going. For example, he consulted us on changing the last day to avoid having to walk kmâs on a hot dusty road, and instead took us to see a glacier. We enjoyed having him as a guide. He had a good balance of being attentive without being overbearing.
The places we went to were spectacular and interesting. We stayed in small Georgian Alpine Villages I guess house where the host would make fresh bread, and their kids would play soccer in the backyard. Everywhere you went there. A beautiful views of mountains villages with centuries-old towers. We took horses across a raging river, and climbed up to a pass overlooking glaciers. It was great to be able to arrive in a guest house and have a hot shower after a long day of hiking. The food in most places was excellent. Dmitri provided me with information I needed to book and was very flexible and helpful with the booking process . Everything was on time and coordinated. It was an excellent trip and I highly recommend...
Read moreWow! What an amazing experience. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids (11&14 years). I was concerned about the hike lengths of the group hikes so Dimitri designed a private programme for us based in Kazbergi region. It was amazing. Dimitri supported us so well before we arrived in Georgia answering my many questions promptly. Our guide Laven met us at our hotel and looked after us for 3 days. We were based in one guesthouse for the duration which was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We hiked different areas each day, the hike length was our choice with options to extend depending on how we were doing + dips in freezing cold mountain lakes (the kids loved) + views that blew my mind + good food + happy stiff legs + no devices all day for the kids = happy family đ. Laven spoke perfect English and informed us about Georgian history, the geographies and the current situation in the countryâŚquestions weâd been burning to ask throughout our time in Georgia. The whole experience was excellent. I would...
Read moreAwesome experience. Great communication and flexibility from Dimitri, our guide and contact at TrekGeorgia. He was in constant contact with us via email before we arrived in Georgia and let us know well in advance any changes to plans. The hike itself was amazing. Stunning views. Dimitri arranged everything including transport from Tbilisi to Mestia and back, guesthouses on the hike and transporting luggage to each guesthouse. Georgians are so friendly and welcoming. It was great meeting other guides on the trails and at the guesthouses. On the final leg of the hike from Iprali to Ushguli we were given the choice to hike the 10km, mostly on road, or drive to Ushguli and explore the Unesco heritage site on horse back. We opted for the horses which was amazing. I thorougly recommend using TrekGeorgia. Before booking a hike get in touch first through the website as trips can be tailored...
