A longer hike from the valley takes you up to the Sonnenkopf. A pretty relentless climb up with a gradient that will not become much less until the very end when tackled from Schöllang. It isn't per se hard, but just physically straining. I wouldn't take small kids here. Once climbed in winter and once in summer. Be careful if there is too much snow. Also early spring is quite treacherous as snow can still be torso deep. The views from up here are beautiful and definitely worth the ascend. Allows for further climbing to three more tops. When descended towards the Nebelhorn you can proceed to the Gaisalpe where a break is well suited. Once descended toward Langenwang there's a hotel quite far down. As a Canadian, I could not speak German and I bought the wrong pass by mistake. They decided I was trying to cheat them and called the police as if I was a criminal.
