Ein scheinbar ganz unbedeutendes, kleines Flüsschen, das in Neresheim/Württemberg seinen Ursprung hat, bei Ziertheim/Dattenhausen Bayern erreicht und sich dann bei Höchstädt in die Donau ergießt, die nach mehr als 2000 km im Schwarzen Meer mündet. Wenn ich also auf der Brücke in Ballmertshofen - wo ich im Sommer gerne sitze, die Füße im Wasser und der Schwanenfamilie zuschaue - in die Egau spucke, schicke ich meine Spucke auf eine weite Reise, vom Härtsfeld ins Donau-Delta. Den Gedanken find ich immer wieder toll! Außerdem kann man am Fluss entlang wunderbar radfahren und spazierengehen.
