Kickelhahn — Local services in Ilmenau

Very beautiful place and must go in summer. You will get to see all around in green. There is also a tower and once you reach at its top, your view is endless. Its generally more cold on the top than in Ilmenau city,so its better to bring a jacket. There is a restaurant as well which provides 🍺 and toilet is only in that restaurant which is charged 50cent per visit.... Its almost 100 minutes journey from Ilmenau Campus to the top and don't try bike, its more than 400 meter high, so its very tiring...

It is worth a visit! A fun hike that is not too difficult and can be reached in an hour. A place to visit in all seasons. We can climb the tower to get a spectacular view of the city of Ilmenau on one side and a beautiful view of nature on the other. There is a beer garden and a few tables and chairs outside...

Quite a must visit for the first semester people in the TU Ilmenau as the myth states that one fails the semester if he doesn't visit it! Hahaha.... But quite a breathtaking view..
