Main menu: not high variance and not many vegetables. Almost everyday fries. Frozen Schnitzel with sugar sauces...

Dessert is ok. Recommend pudding.

Grill: sometimes interesting offer. Some fresh parsley at the salad bar is sometimes available.

Critic: The Mensa card for externals... As an employee you get more and more cards just for work. I have seen in other Mensas that the Girocard can save the (Student, Bediensteter, Gast) status and is read when paying. This would save one card more. Convience food: Meat/vegan + fries + a bought sauce (which is full of chemistry and sugar).

Update (End April 2024): Mensa gets more expensive. Fraunhofer employees will be treated as guests from the beginning this year. Food portions vary. French fries almost every day which does not help for healthy nutrition. Green salad (takes a lot of space in the bowl) is at the beginning of the salad bar, so people do not take too much from the more expensive vegetables. If there is below one star, I would rate it for this special place what you call it Mensa, you are bringing a ready food from Netto and selling it to us, rather you should call Nensa. It is not my fault that I am vegetarian, but it is the fault I do eat here. Eating grass from the garden might be better solution in some times. I have visited many universities in Germany, never seen such a Mensa. For the people are rating it high, please be reasonable, the price of the meals are not cheap, so you should expect at least good thing, not talking about the best. Meals are prepared with minimum possible efforts with lowest quality of resources. More important, all meals are full of oil and CH which is not at all healthy. If some one from Mensa staff is reading my comment, please stop the fries for a while, and please cut the Salat. Affordable food is provided to students everyday. There is a fixed meal plan option and a buffet option. Fixed meal plan contains 1 salad, 1 soup and 1 main course. It costs 2.4 Euro. The buffet has various salads, main courses and here you pay by weight. The buffet is special as every week the cuisine changes.
