The Harz mountains is a very magical place ,there is so much to do and see,if your a outdoors person then the Harz has everything for you, fantastic walks ,mountains ,forest, old medieval towns that are so beautiful they will win a place in your heart, if your a motorcyclist then the roads are amazing twistie mountain roads that lead to spectacular places, curves to die for.also a great place for culture and the food is great to, the people are friendly and very helpful, but do try and speak a little german,,,it will go a long way.If your a steam train enthusiast then the Harz is perfect, Also there are so many old silver mines that are now great museums, and caves with so much history to tell, and perfect in winter for skiing, The Harz is truley a place worth visiting. we loved it so much we moved there and its now our permanent home.VISIT HARZ .

Liebs.

An area with history and nature attractions all around. If you enjoy a hike where you can bring the family or less experienced hikers with you, then Harzen is a fantastic place. There are beautiful scenery with nature and old buildings. The small mountains in the area gives an amazing view, and is within a few hours reach. However, if you expect to be challenged as an experienced hiker, then you need to go elsewhere as all paths are cleared for you and the hills/mountains are effortlessly conquered. All in all a very pleasant place to be.

The Harz Mountains, located in northern Germany, are a stunning natural wonder known for their dense forests, rugged landscapes, medieval towns, and rich folklore. This mountain range spans across Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia, offering breathtaking scenery, numerous hiking trails, and a mystical atmosphere that has inspired legends, including tales of witches gathering at Brocken, the highest peak (1,141 meters).

Visitors can explore Harz National Park, home to diverse wildlife and beautiful trails. The Brocken Railway, a historic steam train, provides a scenic journey through the mountains. Towns like Quedlinburg, Wernigerode, and Goslar feature half-timbered houses and medieval charm. During winter, the Harz turns into a snowy wonderland, perfect for skiing and winter sports.

The best time to visit is spring to autumn for hiking and sightseeing, or winter for snow-covered landscapes. Whether you're a nature lover, history enthusiast, or adventure seeker, the Harz Mountains offer a magical escape into Germany’s rich cultural and...
