Ein heftiges Gewitter, dass am 13. und 14. Juni 1946 über dem Thüringer Wald hinweg zog, knickte ganze Bäume wie Streichhölzer und überwiegend Fichten wurden entwurzelt. Der Windbruch aufgrund des Unwetters zerstörte etwa 1,8 Mio Festmeter Fichtenwald. Für die Aufräumarbeiten und die Wiederaufforstung benötigte man circa 10.000 Forstarbeiter. Erst 10 Jahre später waren insgesamt 4,5 Mio Festmeter Holz aufgearbeitet. Daran erinnert das Denkmal der Waldarbeiter am Rondell bei Oberhof. Hier gibt es auch eine Touringen Stempelstelle ♟️

Hier kommt man fast direkt vorbei, wenn man vom Rondell über die Brücke der Straße geht. Dieses Denkmal, es ist zum Gedenken für die Waldarbeiter und alle, die dort gearbeitet haben, erbaut worden. Finde ich eine schöne Aufmerksamkeit und gut, dass es noch so erhalten ist.
