Some of these negative reviews seem to be emotionally charged. so I'd like to address them, after going there for the first time. 🏖🍹💦
People say it's overpriced, but it only costs 6 euros per adult to enter and kids under 5 were free. The family day bed was only 40 euros for all day. Speaking of all day - some of these complaints must be during the height of COVID or after the kids are out of school in July. But in late June there were no time slots. We were there from 10AM - 8PM. No one kicked us out. Now the non-family side is probably more expensive, but you don't have to deal with kids. I guess it's expensive if all you want to do is swim in a lake when there are free lakes around. This is more than just a lake though.
If people think the food is too expensive or drinks take too long - they don't care if you bring your own food or your own alcohol just as long as it isn't in a glass bottle.
Bees? - Never experienced any on the family side. Maybe a seasonal thing?
Ghost Town? Check the weather in advance. No one is going to be working on a day it's supposed to rain.
Airplanes? Now this part is true - yet if you have kids they will like seeing the airplanes.
Cold Water? Yes - the water is cold. But this isn't an indoor spa. It's an outdoor lake. People expect an outside lake to be temperature-controlled?
Rude staff? Never experienced that. Matter of fact - extremely hospitable, even though I didn't speak German. There was actually two staff members - Mario & Gimano who went out of their way, without being asked, to help me and my family when we were having car trouble at the end of our trip.
One thing though - parking can only be paid in cash, but most everything else within the beach area can take debit/credit card.
There's plenty to entertain yourself; from lounging to inflatable obstacle courses, to pedal boats to paddle boards. Don't let these negative reviews deter yourself from going and making your own...
Read moreThis is my new favorite place. Enjoyed this lake immensely. I came with my husband and children (4 and 11). We unfortunately were late in making reservations, so we were unable to get one of their daybeds or chairs. However, we were still prepared and had a sun tent, towels, and a cooler of food and drinks. We rented one of the paddle boats with the slides which was so fun. There is an aquapark, and rentals for a variety of boats and paddleboards. The lake is calm and good for small children...there is also a family area of the beach with a playground. You can reserve a chair/bed online next to this with a good view of the beach while the kids play. There was great house music lightly playing and a super fun vibe, with a diverse crowd. I'm not sure what minerals are in the lake which make it so blue, but after swimming your skin and hair is left feeling soft and refreshed...not your average murky lake, and the bottom is all sand! The lifeguards/medics were super caring and professional, treating my husband after he stubbed his toe, and shuttling us back to our car afterwards(thank you!) Staff at all the food trucks/reataurants were friendly and many food options (german, Turkish, italian). Lots of options for cocktails if you want to imbibe. The park is well worth the price...make sure you bring plenty of cash, as the aqua park, boat rentals, and several food/drink trucks did not accept credit, or machines were down. Lastly, If you are on a budget skip booking the day bed/chairs, and just bring a...
Read moreIt's definitely a vacation feeling. But u also pay for it. The more u pay the better seats u get to lounge. We had the daybed for 76€ for the whole day. It was definitely nice. Until a big family of 10 peeps arrived at around 4pm. Since nobody checks who reserved what space, people come in the afternoon and choose an empty space which was reserved earlier by the people who have already left their whole day reservation. I don't have anything against u using that opportunity, but these people were loud, obnoxious and rude. All I am saying: now that u got the best seats in the house for probably 6€, don't ruin it for the rest who are trying to enjoy themselves. Altogether this place is nice but expensive. U can bring food but not food that can ruin the seats, like u can bring sandwiches. U cannot bring ur own alcohol. At the daybeds u have the opportunity to order online so u don't even have to get up. Also one annoying thing was the airplanes since this place is in their landing lane. So u constantly hear the airplanes passing in closer than...
