The Sukura Market serves the Sukura, Russia, Lartebiokorshie, Mabrouk and Zamlama communities. It's located within the Sukura residence and has a road lying in it's front. All the Sellers are under stalls or within stalls with lanes dividing or giving it a grouping. Though there are a few sellers along side the road, the rest of sellers are within the market. They are grouped according to the goods they sell. The ground is not concreted. The rain disturbs as the stalls are not fully covered. Other markets like Makola, Agbogbloshie, Malata and the Kaneshie market have their commodities or goods brought down by lorries or trucks. The Sellers of Sukura market do go for their wares or goods themselves from the above mentioned markets. Dough from Malata and Makola markets. Oils like Palm nut oil, groundnut oil and coconut oil from Tudu and Makola markets. Farm produce from Kaneshie, Makola and Agbogbloshie markets. Corn and other cereals from the Kaneshie market. Spices like nut-meg, garlic and others. Wele, pork meat or beef and roasted fish from Kaneshie market. In fact corn, rice, and other cereals; roasted fish, beef, wele, gari, dough, flour, plantain, yams, cassava, okro, pepper, salt, garden-eggs, eggs and charcoal including cooking oils and frying oils some of the major items sold. The Sellers use their own efforts to maintain the Market. They have no any Market Day named so as being done at other markets of Accra when business is supposed to boom. The market's vicinity has Stores where other bodily wears and wants are sold. There is a Cold Store to help in preservation of fish and others. On Fridays the number of sellers lessens due to Funeral activities. The market had been in place since the 1960's. The market needs to given a face lifting.

This market need restructuring or uplifting to help the community to also enjoy the very substance of the country Ghana . Although the market has a variety of food, it lacks customer accessibility and decency. I appeal to the community assembly to advocate to the right agency so the market building can be completed . The...
