The Matrix Gym — Local services in Accra

Very large gym, could more efficiently use the space. Gets very warm on one side, treadmills side only has fan and no AC so you sweat even more than you’d expect. Unorganized locker and towel system. It’s a decent gym, and the best part is the cafe outside which is a bit overpriced but make nice salads and fresh smoothies. Otherwise, I probably won’t come back. There’s only one bench and no one really puts the weights back where they’re supposed to be. Plus, it’s frustrating that it doesn’t feel cool...

Matrix is the biggest gym in Africa and it has just started operating at the Legon City Mall, located on the 4th floor. The gym is equipped with a wide variety of free weights as well as machines and cardio equipment. Solid gym. I was told it's the biggest in West Africa. Maintenance isn't the best. There is plenty equipment and machines. Muscly men all around. Personal trainers and outdoor field. I'm signing up for 6 months. It's a bit expensive over 2000 cedis but you can freeze at any time. By the way that cafe is half the reason I continue going...
