It is one of two of its king in the whole world. They no longer let you inside the tower, you can only climb up the stairs which is unfortunate. There can be so much more here as with all of Ghana tourist attractions. They are missing out on so much potential and focusing solely on the 10ghc cover. I would love to see lighthouse keychains and postcards and info packages sold here as souvenirs.

Beautiful place. It should be declared a world heritage site. There are only TWO of these lighthouses in the ENTIRE WORLD, and this is the older one, having been constructed in 1901. The other, in the USA, was built in 1904. It needs a fresh coat of paint, please, Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority. Don't allow this magnificent edifice of historical important rust and rot away.

We were charged 10ghc each to climb the lighthouse but we were not allowed to go inside for which reason I felt the 10ghc charge was unfair. If we just need to climb the stairs but not go inside the lighthouse to see what happens inside then there's no reason for the charge of 10ghc.
