This is a must visit in Lixouri. Such a gorgeous vineyard and winery. Run by a very friendly family, the owner personally gave us a tour of the beautiful family home and grounds as well as the vineyards. Their home is authentic, full of character and long lived history. When walking through the grounds, you can feel the uniqueness of the place, the memories of generations that shared moments along the garden, with the trunks of olive, fig and palm trees, over 100 years old. You can tell that the place is run by a very hard working and friendly family. We were guided through the production process, fermentation process and the very few ingredients used to create the final products. We then went on to taste some wine, sitting in their beautiful garden. The wine was just delicious. We started with a rose, followed by a red wine and then 2 white wines, with lots of information about each. We were also offered bread, olive oil ( from their own olives) and cheese to enjoy in between glasses to clear our palettes and to enhance the flavours of the wine. All in all, an amazing experience and highly recommend...

The person guiding you around is super friendly and knowledgeable on the wines. They do a small tour around the house, a private (beautiful) chapel, and a little around the vineyard itself. Apparently the house is one of the oldest remaining buildings after the great Earthquake in 1953. Nicely restored,
Only in 2011 the 'commercial production of wine' started. Before the win was only produced for the Family that apparently owns the Vineyard for many decades.
The wines are nice and not as acidic as some other local wines. The tasting includes 4 wines. A white (nicely drinkable) A 'rose' A Cold Red And a beautiful red (Madamme) The last is very nice and super drinkable.
Close your eyes to the mess, listen to the friendly explanations and enjoy good cheese, olive oil, the wines and the tour guide... you will have...
Read moreWe really really loved our tour and tasting. What a lovely estate with a very rich history. The house is a museum in itself (and I say this in the most positive way!). We could tell there is a lot of interesting family history and you all have such a passion for the product you are creating. The lovely animals are a big bonus. We especially loved Paco and Lucia! Both you and your brother made us feel so welcome and it was great to hear about the creative process of making the different wines. Interesting stories, a good laugh and amazing wines (and food!). It is a shame we are flying back home, else we would have bought a whole lot more wines. Thank you for this amazing experience and for making us...
