Alimia — Local services in Municipality of Chalki

Well I’m sad to report that Alimia is in a sorry state. There is enormous amount of rubbish, mostly plastic, on the shore and on the sea bed. Yes it’s a safe anchorage but it looks very sad and neglected like this. I can only hope that the commercial boats will make the effort to clean it up as tourists won’t want to come here in the state it’s in. Particularly sad as it demonstrates that even the beautiful Aegean Sea is full of dreadful plastic. I guess there has been no incentive and no budget to clean up this year but let’s hope for...
